The practical problem for users of SVG is that Adobe speedily implemented *most* of SVG 1.0 in the Adobe SVG Viewer then, more or less, **just stopped** development. Different SVG developers are affected differently by different omissions.

There is certainly most of the functionality present in ASV version 3 but it would be really nice to have a complete SVG 1.0 implementation.

Happily, there are signs that interest in further development of the Adobe SVG Viewer is perhaps picking up again. But the hiatus in its development certainly caused a slowing of SVG's momentum.

Since the embed tag works well it isn't a huge problem, at least not to non-Tag-Police developers. :)

If only Adobe finished the excellent job they started on the Adobe SVG Viewer.
