I can't resist: I'm hoping mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org/) will resurrect the
browser: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/mozilla/index.html?CMP=IL7015 - "let a
thousand browsers bloom". All with the aid of XUL - a synthesis of HTML + XML +
CSS + RDF and a sprinking of DTDs. I suspect no serious developer would be
caught dead using it...but maybe this semi-illicitness is it's lure...
Maybe the re-write was worth it?

# Netscape sent browser innovation into a coma by deciding to rewrite from
# scratch. Microsoft can no more kill browser innovation then they can all
# operating system innovation or web server innovation. Only the people

# Microsoft has a "revenue situation"?

# Microsoft is doing great. Most companies would kill for tis "revenue
# situation". Open source is a strategic threat but has had no real effect
# on revenue.

# I think that they are reporting their numbers today so perhaps I will

# The availability of HTML tools and techniques provides a *platform* for
# innovation.
