While thinking about linking, I was curious about real-world use of attributes of the A element in web pages, so I wrote some scripts to churn through 162 megs of sample Google pages and 62 megs of sample Yahoo pages and then save out information about the use of these attributes. See http://www.snee.com/xml/a-href.html for some stats and information on getting the data files if you want to poke at them yourselves.
