WATTLE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF XMLWRITER 2.0

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA. 22nd January, 2003.

Wattle Software today announced the release of XMLwriter 2.0, a new
release of its popular XML editor for the Windows platform. XMLwriter
2.0 builds on the success of the previous version and remains
competitively priced at $AUD 139 ($US 79) per license.

This version contains many exciting new features designed to save time
for XML authors. New intelligent entry helpers assist in rapidly
composing valid XML documents. Customizable code snippets eliminate
repetitive typing for often used text. Auto-completion of XML tag pairs
saves time and users can auto-format messy XML files in a pretty-printed
layout. Plus there are a host of new menu commands and other
improvements to the user interface.
Also new in version 2.0 is full support for W3C XML Schemas (also known
as XSD) including validation, conversion to and from DTD and generating
sample XML data from an XSD Schema. The new version includes
improvements to usability, additional help for new XML users and user
feature requests.

About XMLwriter

XMLwriter is a powerful XML editor for Windows designed to help web
editors and programmers take advantage of the latest XML and XML-related
technologies such as XSLT and XSD Schema.

XMLwriter is the favored XML editor of many universities and private
colleges for use by students in their XML coursework. The intuitive user
interface facilitates rapid learning for XML beginners and comprehensive
on-line help incorporating an XML syntax guide is included. Experienced
users will appreciate XMLwriter's comprehensive feature set and
extensibility.

Especially designed to manage projects, XMLwriter's Integrated
Development Environment (IDE) provides useful project management
features such as a structured Project View workspace, and batch
processing of files. Intelligent entry helpers guide the creation of
documents and customizable code snippets are available for often used
text. TagBar provides a visual, interactive representation of a DTD or
XML Schema enabling mouse-driven editing.

XMLwriter provides a complete range of XML functionality such as:
validation of XML documents against a DTD or XSD Schema and conversion
of DTDs to the newer XSD Schema format or vice versa. XMLwriter can
transform XML to HTML using XSLT stylesheets or users can combine CSS
with XML for direct formatting of XML data.

Power users can select third-party XML parsers, XSL engines, and other
tools to process XML documents without leaving the XMLwriter
environment. Other advanced editing features include: real-time color
syntax highlighting of tags and keywords, extensive drag and drop
support, unlimited undo/redo, find and replace, auto-indent, line
numbering and bookmarking. The user interface, including toolbars,
menus, keyboard shortcuts and the workspace environment are all fully
customizable.

XMLwriter is written entirely in C++, and has been designed to meet the
Windows user interface guidelines, so users can expect a familiar look
and feel.
