The subject of the XML Cup came up here a little while back. Here is
some more information about it.
The XML Cup is awarded for services to the XML community at the end-
of-year XML Conference hosted by IDEAlliance. The XML Conference
Planning Committee, which has the pleasure of deciding who receives
the XML Cup, wants more XML community input to help make the
decision.
This year we're going to try a new system. A large number of members
of the XML Community are active reviewers for the XML Conference,
reviewing the submitted abstracts and grading them (which really
helps figure out the best papers!). We are going to ask active
reviewers for their suggestions for the Cup, so active reviewers can
expect an email from me on this subject in July or August. The
Planning Committee will still be making the final decision, but will
take all the suggestions seriously.
BTW, if anyone here wishes to become a reviewer for the XML
Conference, please let me know and I'll tell you what's involved. The
expected timelines for this year are:
paper submissions due June 1
assignments of abstracts to reviewers June 8
reviews due July 1
cheers,
Lauren
