I must've dreamt but I think I remember reading somewhere that MS was to use
something revolving around RDDL with HTTP namespaces pointing to
schema(s).microsoft.com. I'm quite disappointed this isn't the case.

Seems typical MS, if it ain't core XML, it's NIH.
