The problem comes of not admitting these are different
systems using the same name/addressing syntax. The
Semantic Web is a set of documents. Not more; not less.
What is true of a resource is not of necessity provably
true of a representation. The semantic web is not
the next-generation web. It is an application.
It is a next generation HTML for automated inferencing.

What I don't understand about folks like Tim Bray and the others who believe
in the religion of URIs is how they do not see the paradoxes their position
causes. Arguments like "well today's Web works fine" are totally irrelevant
since we aren't talking about today's Web but instead are building a basis
for tomorrow's [Semantic] Web.
