Rats.  I thought maybe I would eventually get an ad for 
one of those pills that really works, but no... and yes,
there are better uses for grits, but usually with butter 
and biscuits. (Durn... now I'm hungry for breakfast.)

How does it make it easier to find the best most thoughtful 
replies in large threads?  I'm not a /. reader.

At an absolute minimum, you need to prune the spam; e.g. offers for 
penis enlargement pills. I tend to feel you should not prune more 
than the absolute minimum. (i.e. it's also a maximum). The slashdot 
self-moderation system is very interesting. IT allows everything, but 
tends to hide the "first post/Natalie Portman/Pour Hot Grits Down My 
Pants" posts. It also makes it much easier to finds the best, most 
thoughtful replies in large threads.
