As I recall and that was when I was younger, it was
the tower and the king that were smoten, but the
people were scattered babbling. So when XML comes
to full dominance, we can likely expect the Internet
to crash once and for all.
o Since as everyone knows, the WWW and the Internet
are not the same thing, perhaps the WWW will be spared
o Since as we all know, URIs identify resources, not
representations, addressing won't work, but everything
will still be on the web.
o Since as we all know, PC clients are losers, your
representations will still be delivered by web browsers,
but web will refer to their feet. An RSS feed will
come in a bag with the name of the mill where it
was ground on it.
o The work for a semantic web will go on because
it is fully funded.

I dunno. The last time all the peoples of the earth spoke the same
language, were Smote Down. Perhaps there's something to be said for Tag
Soup. :)
