COBOL was supposed to end of programmers, and does

as is stringing Web services into a Workflow in the likes of Weblogic 
Integrator and Biztalk, but it's the non-functionals such as
security, performance, testing, packaging, configuration management, 
etc that still make computing difficult. One size fits all is still a 
long way off ..
