RE: [xml-dev] Designing XML to Support Information Evolution

[ Lists Home | Date Index | Thread Index ]

Marketing goes where the money is and
the press goes where the inventors are.
Then they tear them down. See news at ten.

The Brits wrote a paper in 1947 describing
a manned rocket using a German V2. Today,
the Canadians are testing a similar design as
their entry for the X-prize. Meanwhile,
Konrad Dannenberg, who was part of the
team that actually did the original
design tells us that what the Canadians
are doing is a bit dangerous because
of the lack of a turbopump, but the
Canadians have a complete set of V2
drawings and are moving on relentlessly.

And so it goes in the world of taking
designs from one group and claiming it
for one's own achievements and fame.
It may not be fair, but it is certainly
modern.

A wonderful view of the internet as an all-American institution. Amazing.
The worrying thing is, one gets the impression the people who paint this
kind of picture don't even realise how parochial their world view is.
