   RE: [xml-dev] ebXML examples

[ Lists Home | Date Index | Thread Index ]

Title: Message
ebXML used in bankcommon standard for e-invoicing in Finland http://www.pankkiyhdistys.fi/finvoice/   using european ePI standard (www.ecbs.org)

TC6: Electronic Services

Work Item 6.2 (WG2): Electronic Payment Initiator (ePI)

Effectiveness in handling payments, both cross border and domestic, has always been a high priority issue for the banking sector. This working group developed the ePI which enables and supports different ways of initiating and executing a payment. The ePI is a set of minimum data (STP data) that is required to initiate and execute a payment.

Based on SWIFT message models, WG2 and SWIFT together developed a suitable electronic standards data container (EBS602) that is compatible with the most recent financial industry developments and standards, eg, SWIFT’s MT 103+. This effort was aimed at facilitating straight through processing and took account of current legislation.

In 2003, an implementation guide was published. It was accompanied by an updated standard and a report with ePI terminology translated into most European languages. ePI XML schemas will also be available for download from this website.

The headline is misleading. The Australian telco referred to here has not deployed Hermes.
