I need something VERY small such that I can run it on a microcontroller such as the Motorola MC9S12 series processor (64-256k ROM space.)

There's the libxml2, libxslt/sltproc package. It's very fast, functional, but
the error reporting could be better(but it's being worked on):

(it can be used independently of GNOME)
