We have released the version 2.3 of the Topologi Markup Editor
for $99 at the Topologi ToolShop, http://www.topologi.com/
Improvements include:
A military customer needed their OCR/markup staff to be able to
send queries to their outsourced markup gurus, but they did not
want multiple versions of the actual documents escaping their
control. In version 2.3, users can make a screen shot, annotate
it with drawings and text, and save to a file to email to the gurus.
A customer wanted to be able to mark up complex structures with pens
even faster. In version 2.3, users can sequence through the markup
pens automatically. The markup pens already include an auto-incrementing
ID generator.
A user with large but confusing repetitive documents wanted better
support for keeping track of the sections that had changed. As
well as the existing support for line-locked sections, in version 2.3
users can jump to the next changed block. As well, a new kind of
cut operation has been added to cut text to a new document, replacing
it with a comment in the original; this simplifies splitting a large
document into entities.
A markup-house customer wanted comments, references, processing
instructions and start-tag open-delimiters to be more distinct when
scrolling through a document. In version 2.3, Happy Tags backs open
delimiters with distinct coloured shapes to augment the syntax colouring.
In version 2.3, the ESC key is context aware: in data it closes
the current element as before, but inside markup it closes the
current tag.
Version 2.3 can be launched from the new Topologi Utilies, running
in the same memory space as them for lightening re-opening time.
Other enhancements have been made for smoother auto-completion of
element names, and for automatically generating template from
DTDs.
Existing customers will be sent an upgrade password. Versions for
Windows and Linux are now available. The editor is available online
for thirty-day evaluation. (An upgrade to the Topologi Professional
Edition with the 2.3 Markup Editor component will be available
shortly.)
