> Does anyone know about the origins of the term enterprise in corporate
> America - was it pre or post Star Trek.
Star Trek mades it debut in 1965 so my first source was a 1965 text about
decision modeling and simulation. It has a section about modeling the "firm" and
the papers it cites use firm, not enterprise.
No reference to enterprise in several others, except for a book copyrighted
1961, second edition in 1967. In the index, it says
"Enterprise: see Firm"
The USS Enterprise was a famous WW II aircraft carrier built during the
Depression (1930s).
