Thanks for those links. I think I've posted this link before, but
it's quite relevant to the intersection of SOAs and DBMS

It doesn't say a lot about XQuery, but XQuery can be used to find
service messages with XML content.
BTW, there is another good article in that issue of ACM Queue by Margo
Selzer, a Harvard professor and CTO of Sleepycat, called Beyond
Relational Databases. It's not online yet, but look for it later if
you don't have access to the printed magazine.
