RE: [xml-dev] XQuery & Several records (instead of one xml-field)

Cool. I'm pruning the CC list for the usual reasons.

We are using Iron Speed Designer. As RADs go, this one works well. It gets
rid of the 80% of grunt work that takes up so much time. It also organizes
the application well arch wise. In fact, schedule wise, it's saving our ***
right now.

No RAD is perfect, IME. If the paradigm squeaks in some fits, one finds
oneself hacking in the base classes, and of course, there are dragons there.
OTOH, it takes a small shop and makes it competitive with the outsourcers.

What I have not seen is a RAD that integrates document querying. That might
be where XQuery and the like will pick up more mind share. XQuery for all
its power is still a gnomic beastie. Template systems really can be a
help.

Unless it is delicate wood, a chain saw beats a handsaw any day as long as
the chain stays on.

This email escaped before I finished... Trimpath templates is at:

You don't need to rely on the browser either. You can use it offline
with something like Rhino.
