Announce: XML'2007 Lightning Round on Standards and Specifications

Hello all,

This year at XML'2007 I'll be standing in for Mike Smith, helping him
by running the "Standards and Specs Lightning Round". Mike set this
up for this year's conference based on his success at last year's
conference of setting up a similar PechaKucha session.

For this year we need more people who are involved with different
specifications (standard or de facto) and different standardization
committees (national or international) to volunteer a presentation in
Boston December 4, 2007 at the annual XML conference.

The presentation will be limited to 20 slides (may be less) timed at
20 seconds each. The slides are flipped by the moderator, not by the
speaker, thus guaranteeing each presentation will not run over 6
minutes and 40 seconds. Audience participation is encouraged, and
last year the event was a lot of fun and very well received.

Your objective as a speaker is to bring the work of your
specification or committee to light in the community. This helps
those who are using the technology better understand its roots, and
hopefully encouraging them to seek out more participation in
specification development and standardization activities. It may
even help find new adopters of the technology.

Other questions can be directed to me off list.

Thanks!
