That is the more interesting question. Is it the same as asking was the
data in aggregate or separately exposed to a process or many?
Is discovering the process required to discover the pattern? No.
What is the origin of the process and do you need to know that? Not
necessarily.
The question begs the concept of the organizing process or data creator.
It is useful to know the answer if the next question is, do I have the right
to alter the pattern.
