Sorry, I don't know Cocoon. Perhaps others on the list do? Can you characterize Cocoon's pipeline capabilities?

Perhaps a more apt comparison would be between the Cocoon Sitemap language and xProc?  Cocoon itself is an entire pipeline processing infrastructure (and more).  There has been talk about allowing Cocoon to use / run a set of xProc instructions within a wrapper.
