DTD 2 Schema

Hi:

I attempted to use DTDinst on sample dtd. I always receive syntax error on 1st line, column 0.

Sample dtd
<!DOCTYPE note [
<!ELEMENT note (to,from,heading,body)>
<!ELEMENT to (#PCDATA)>
<!ELEMENT from (#PCDATA)>
<!ELEMENT heading (#PCDATA)>
<!ELEMENT body (#PCDATA)>

p.s. any other recommend dtd 2 schema translators?
