If you consider KML or GML as "an XML document that contains a bunch of points" then there are many tools that can render the underlying geometry (e.g. Google Earth)

Subject: [xml-dev] A tool that takes an XML document of points as input and plots the points on a graph and connects the dots?
Hi Folks,
Is there a tool which takes as input an XML document
that contains a bunch of points and plots those points
on an X-Y coordinate system and connects the dots?
/Roger
