Some of the xml attributes become impossible: xml:space, xmlns (some would
consider that a good thing:); xml:id becomes more complex, as in
node()[./id='...myid...'] which is also a bit more expensive and less
friendly for streaming. Also specifying the constraint that ID's are
unique within a document becomes harder to do. And once you do that, you
are headed down the path of taking away *more* element names from general
use, which XML doesn't do now.
