RE: [xml-dev] hypermedia affordances

Len,

You are 100% right, this is going to take some time, as it should. On Monday, I'll go back to _work_, because I have an exciting project starting there, and they need my attention. So, I'll respond to emails on xml-dev that are addressed to me, but I can't pour too much more effort into MicroXML in the next little while.

I was looking over some old emails on xml-dev from early 2000s and it struck me that the rush is what caused the problems that MicroXML is trying to solve, but may not because of the rush again.

Now I thought hypermedia affordances was a slam dunk, and maybe it is, but it certainly shouldn't be rushed.

I don't believe in princes, but I respect people's work. The community is King. I also believe in mental health, and trying to rush things leaves other stuff out.

I am lucky enough to be able to attend the IETF meeting in Vancouver this month, as a fact-finding / training opportunity. If you, or anyone else happens to be there, please, find me for a chat.

There are no heroes, no villains. Pride is the only enemy.

Regards,
Peter Rushforth

And wouldn't that be pretty close to SGML?
and aren't there SGML parsers that could be updated?
and wouldn't json be parsable as SGML?
and isn't SGML an international standard?

I added them back for attributes only:

  http://ccil.org/~cowan/MicroXML.html section 4.2

Note that you aren't required to declare a prefix unless you want
compatibility with XML tools.

I think the people who would care about MicroXML don't know anything
about it yet. Things may start to change after the SD Times article.
