contagion vector: infoset augmentation

Whether default values for attributes or data types, applying these
annotations through schemas (or DTDs) that also define structure or
content constraints is a recipe for making schemas the primary tool in
developing vocabularies. These conveniences drive schema use earlier in
the development process, even when constraints themselves are not needed.
These annotations have since been integrated into other toolkits,
further driving the use of schemas to activate features.
Some schema approaches avoided this; to my shame, the old XSchema was
not one of them. [Y]
