I am not sure what you mean by using the word 'intricate' in contrast
to 'validation'. But to me it means that the occurrences may allow
you to ignore data that you do not think is appropriate, even if it is
of the appropriate type. Otherwise, if it is required, you can't
ignore it if it is valid type data and meets the occurrences
constraint.
