I can't say that you're exactly writing my Balisage paper for me, but I 
woke up this morning to find two quotes that went into it immediately, 
one in the opening section.

It is far far better to have this conversation live with great people 
than to sit in a corner writing.  I should not be surprised - the same 
thing happened while I was writing XML books in the past.

The xml-dev list may be quieter than it was in years past, but it 
remains a powerful source of provocative wisdom(s).
