It depends on the person and the purpose.
There's a chapter on XML Schema in "Beginning XML 5th edition"; Eric van
der vlist's books is fabulous especially for computer people (it's from
O'Reilly), but only covers XSD 1.0 right now. There are others but
that's what's on my shelf - I use Eric's book, and I wrote part of
"Beginning XML", although not the chapter on XSD.
