Re: [xml-dev] XML vocabulary for expressing constraints?

After all, they both involve identifying conflicts. So what is the common thread that ties them together?

...... I have learned that what I describe above are instances of Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSP).

So, I would like to express my constraints in XML and feed the XML into a CSP tool. Has anyone created an XML vocabulary for expressing constraints?
Isn't that what a schema is?

A DTD schema and a RELAX-NG schema express the constraints on vocabulary structure and values based on a pattern grammar.

A W3C XSD schema expresses the constraints on vocabulary structure and values based on type inheritance.

A Schematron schema expresses the constraints on vocabulary structure and values based on a set of assertions.

I think you need to be more specific in your question by asking if someone has created an XML vocabulary for particular kinds of constraints you are interested in. I think your question is too general, but perhaps others can read more into it than what I am seeing.
