I spoke with Ian earlier today, who is also
currently under restrictions for travel, though his
may be lifted by Oct 1 to 5. (I think
I am reporting this accurately; he did
have his Orlando flight scratched...)
Apparently there were backup dates
that Messaging agreed to.
But I believe that they were for the next week
of October (i.e., the second week).
Would the travel restrictions be lifted by
the second week of October? (I suspect
the answer will be "who knows?")
We (CPPA and MSG) were arranging teleconference
options. If the majority are going to call in,
though, it somewhat defeats the value of
scheduling a face to face.
Ian also expressed concern that the December Messaging
submission goal could slip if the October
f2f slipped.
Because CPPA has scheduled a joint day, we
may need to reschedule if the Messaging
group changes its plans.
I am going to poll CPPA to see if travel
bans are emerging to impace f2f attendance.
