In response to Roger’s inquiry, I am
forwarding the most recent message from Kelly Ray about the January 31, 2006
meeting.  James Cusick has agreed to
represent the Electronic Court Filing Technical Committee.  Don Bergeron is also planning to
attend.  All of the Member Section
TCs have been invited to attend and I understand that several will have
representatives there.  



No one is quite sure of the purpose except
to share information about XML standards efforts and coordinate them.

Hello Everyone:



We have indeed secured a space for our Legal Standards
Interoperability Meeting on the second day of LegalTech  – Tuesday, .



I have split the day up into 30 minute intervals, with the
exception of the 50 minute lunch spot which I have proposed be a shared time
slot for UTBMS/LEDES.  I have attached a proposed order of presentations
attempting to keep some our European colleagues involved early in the day where
they could present remotely and trying to recognize that some of the presenters
have other presentations on the same day in other tracks.  If you have a
conflict and need times to be adjusted please let me know.  Also, I have
not received solid confirmations from some of the LegalXML groups, so those
additional time slots may be open.



In advance of the meeting, I ask that each of you provide
the slide deck you will be using to present information about the standards
work you are pursuing.  I recognize that some of the initiatives (like the
Sedona Conference work may need to be split apart as I have done with
LegalXML).  I will make these adjustments as I hear back from you on
confirmation that you will be presenting and your estimates on the time needed
for the number of initiatives you are describing.



As a general outline for your presentation, it would be
helpful to make sure each presentation covers:

1)   Objective/Mission
of the standards initiative

2)   Issued
standards versus work under development

3)   Challenges
in adoption (so we can work together to secure adoption)

4)   Vision for
next standards initiatives



If as you look at the list of invitees you observe that
there is a missing standards initiative, please let me know.  Our room
size if very limited, so while I am wanting presenters to be live representing
each of the initiatives, I will be encouraging others to attend via web and
conference call.



I have asked that each of you provide your slide deck to me
so that I may post it to the OLSI website and be able to direct people to that
website to download the presentations to be able to review them as they are
being presented during the day.



Rooms book up early, so I encourage you to make your hotel
reservations and flights as soon as possible.
