John,

I thank you for the comments of support.  I agree that we need a new,
better governance structure and culture.  I will do what I can to help
us succeed in whatever capacity fits best for the group.

I brief personal note: there is a chance I'll be "enhancing" my
affiliation soon as a Director in a big-5 consultancy.  I would expect
that my MIT affiliation would continue as well (evidently, the
consultancy finds it valuable and MIT is happy to continue with me in
a new role).  I'd likely move from being a Lecturer to a Research
Scientist (functionally the same gig, but fewer teaching duties and
more research and politicking time).  I don't know that this will
happen, but if it does it will not affect my participation in LegalXML
(other than to enhance it).
