Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-1508) Named relative cellranges

Patrick Durusau commented on OFFICE-1508:
-----------------------------------------
Michael,
I don't know if this will help but note that Andreas says:
"As a consequence there would be no way of defining a name that is interpreted relative to the current cell (ie. *the cell in which the name is being _used_*). "
If I take that literally, Andreas is talking about defining a name in the cell.
I read table:expression as appearing only on the <table:expression> element, which is itself a child of <table:expressions>, which does *not* appear on a cell.
Perhaps if Andreas can say a bit more about "the cell in which the name is being _used_" that might help clarify the situation.

> 17.638 currently contains the paragraph:
> If the expression contains a relative cell range address, a table:base-cell-address attribute must also appear on the <table:named-expression> element.
> The spreadsheet program Gnumeric allows for named ranges that are interpreted relative. This is useful for situations were one wants to write many similar formulas that for example refer to a certain number of cells to the top right.
