This message is especially aimed at UBL participants working in a public procurement setting and/or in the European Union. 

The IDA (Interchange of Data Between Administrations) programme at the European Commission's DG Enterprise is currently organizing a survey on their work on public e-Procurement and on standardization strategies. 

There is an ongoing dialogue between IDA and some people in OASIS/UBL. We are encouraging organizations in the IDA community and their contractors to work with(in) the UBL TC to make sure the UBL schemas meet European requirements for public procurement. Several of the leading European public e-procument systems already use UBL and are eager to see it more widely adopted. 

The survey among others includes a question if IDA should keep developing these schemas in an independent fashion or should join a standardization body.  

People choosing the latter option are asked which standardization body IDA should join. OASIS is one of four organizations listed as candidate hosts for standardization.  

So, if you think OASIS in general and the UBL TC specifically would be a good host for this work, please fill out the form and make your voice heard.
