I have acknowledged it. My answers may well have been burried in much to
convoluted responses. I have suggested that either
a) the application be permitted to perform these tasks in the parser's dynamic
context, or
b) the DOM designers have to recognize that they're dealing with an instance
of the "upwards funarg" problem.

There are known mechanism to manage the latter. My experience is that the
former is much more effective.
