The problem might be the bridge, not the Access driver or Access.  I've 
been using Sun's JDBC/ODBC bridge with Microsoft's Access driver for quite 
a while without any problems.  (Sun JDK 1.1.7, Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 
3), MS Access driver 3.50.360200).
