SOAP [1] defines a mapping from programming language structs to XML (see 8.1.
Rules for Encoding Types in XML). I think it should be possible
to derive an IDL -> Schema mapping from the specification.
It may also make sense to have a look at RDF [2] and XML-RPC [3].
