   Broken links, broken dreams

It is shameful that OASIS is "proud to host the XML-DEV mailing list
and archives," and yet can't be bothered to keep current the links to
the archives and list information from their XML.ORG site, despite
having been informed of this problem (via XML-DEV) repeatedly.

Although OASIS has done right by XML-DEV recently (outsourcing list
management has resulted in decreased latency and reduced downtime), it
is difficult to avoid the impression that OASIS regards XML-DEV as an
unwelcome burden, given that indignation is required before action is
taken to remediate problems, where polite requests enter the aether
never to be heard of again.

If this perchance reaches the ear of anyone at OASIS who is interested
in helping XML-DEV (is there anyone?), another recurrent request which
has been silently ignored is that the un/subscription information
trailers, which were formerly (prior to outsourcing list management)
appended to all posts, be reinstated.

Respectfully,
Steve Rowe
