Clark, I am not sure exactly what you are looking for -- hostname or is it
really now domain name syntax? You can search the RFC index
(http://www.ietf.org/iesg/1rfc_index.txt) for updates to 1034 and decide
exactly what you want. For example, 2065 updates DNS with security
extensions, but that may not be the ticket. A number of other sites host
RFCs, but I usually use IETF's site. I'd like to hear about better RFC sites
if anyone has a *ahem* opinion on that. -Mike

Subject: RFC for hostnames?

I know that this isn't really an XML question,
but what is the RFC for Hostname syntax. I thought
it was 1034; however, according to the production
in that RFC "3com.com" isn't allowed, and I can
navigate to "3com.com"...

Thank you!

Clark
