You totally got that right. I gave a keynote at eDevCon earlier this month
on SOAP and XML-RPC, and was expecting to have to evangelize, but most of
the 200+ people in the audience were actively developing apps. They don't
see the XML under the hood, you're right they use the tools that are being
provided for them by the various vendors and open source projects. It's
going to be huge, it's growing very quickly.
