XML Parsers for UNIX environments

I am in need of help.
Does anyone on this list know of any XML parsers that have 'C' libraries
that could be called to parse XML in the UNIX environ?
Virtually everything that I see is Java and/or C++. Any contributions are
greatly appreciated.
