"The XML-RPC spec checks in at slightly more than 1,500 words, winning my
Concise Spec Award for Web services. SOAP runs about 11,000 words, and UDDI
about 26,000. For the uninitiated or confused, the XML-RPC spec provides an
easily grasped window into the technical promise of Web services, while also
serving as a spirited manifesto for the then-new Web services world order.
When I grow confused about what Web services means, I read the XML-RPC spec
and it makes sense again."
