new OASIS discussion list: TransQuery

Upon the request by three eligible participants, I have created an OASIS
Discussion List whose purpose is to discuss the possible creation of an
OASIS Technical Committee. Discussion on the list will begin in seven
days, and the list and its archive will be deleted after 90 days, after
which time a TC may be formed or not.

The scope of discussion is TransQuery, a small, flexible set of XSLT
conventions and processing model constraints that enable the use of XSLT
as a query language over multiple XML documents. TransQuery addresses
interoperability between XML databases and document management systems
that use XSLT as their primary data access language.

To learn more about TransQuery in its current form, see the following
resources:

TransQuery specification: http://www.transquery.org/specification
TransQuery FAQ: http://www.transquery.org/faq
TransQuery demo: http://www.xyzfind.com/transquery
TransQuery SourceForge project:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/transquery

The discussion list has been proposed by the following Individual member
of OASIS:

Evan Lenz, elenz@xyzfind.com (Individual member)
Eric van der Vlist, vdv@dyomedea.com (Individual member)
Francis Norton, francis@redrice.com (Individual member)
Leigh Dodds, ldodds@ingenta.com (Individual member)

The discussion leader will be Evan Lenz.

In order to participate in this discussion you should subscribe to the
discussion list using the subscription form at
