I don't believe I made any such claim in this thread or elsewhere. I
did say I was disappointed by XML's more-or-less complete failure as a
medium for public hypertext [1], but that's the extent of it.
If anything, I'd say that historically the XML community went out of its
way to alienate the HTML developer community, not to learn from it.
