RE: [xml-dev] Tim Bray on "Which Technologies Matter?"

[ Lists Home | Date Index | Thread Index ]

Are there any new SGMLers?

As XML gets more features via the application language
framework and becomes more complex as a system, the
same mindset that pervaded C++ will take hold. Then
what?

A long time ago on this list, I said, it's all just
markup technologies. The MLisms barely matter now
except to assert which group of people control the texts of
the specifications.

XML is as much about power as technology. Don't take
that as a derogatory statement. It is real.

Perhaps some of the old SGMLers who predate XML have a different
perspective. Are you seeing any new SGML projects these days?
