It's amazing how bad we can be at connecting pictures to actual
people. I remember meeting Michael Kay at an XML conference once, and
my first thought was, "Funny, he doesn't look like the picture on his
book."
For a conference brochure that needed a picture recently, I submitted
a picture of my cat Marjorie. She's much cuter than I am. :-)
