- Thread-topic: [ANN] Ipedo XML Database 3.1 Now Available
Ipedo has released a new vision of it's award-winning XML product suite.
This new version includes an updated version of the Ipedo XML Database,
PC Magazine's Editor's Choice
<http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,63211,00.asp> for Best XML
Database, and Ipedo Web Express, a toolkit that accelerates development
of XML-based J2EE web applications. Other new features in the 3.1
release include:
- Update support via XQuery - extensions to Ipedo's XQuery interface to
support granular XML updates, in-line with the current update syntax
proposals before the W3C
- Built-in WebDAV support - access database collections and files
utilizing the popular WebDAV protocol
- Binary object support - binary objects (images, Office documents,
etc.) can now be stored in the database alongside XML documents
- Resource-based access control - new access control model based on the
standard Java Security model
- Enhanced schema manager - now supports versioning of collection
schemas allowing for easier schema evolution and the ability to roll
back to previous instances of a collection schema (i.e. schema
versioning)
Release 3.1 also includes Ipedo Developer for SunOne Studio(tm) - a new
plug-in for SunOne Studio (formerly Forte for Java(tm))
<http://wwws.sun.com/software/sundev/jde/index.html> that assists
developers utilizing that environment in developing Ipedo-based J2EE
applications.
Ipedo has also made significant enhancements to the Ipedo Integration
Manager in the 3.1 release, including the introduction of powerful new
technology called XML Views. XML Views provide seamless access to any
JDBC-compliant data source or SOAP-compliant Web Service. XML Views are
queryable using XQuery seamlessly, just like any other XML document in
the database: no mapping is required.
Ipedo has also released Ipedo Personalization Manager, a new product in
release 3.1. Ipedo Personalization Manager combines an easy-to-use user
profile management system with the powerful query and transformation
capabilities of the Ipedo XML Database to allow for on-the-fly
personalization of XML content.
The Ipedo Learning Edition, which includes evaluation editions of the
Ipedo XML Database and Ipedo Web Express, is available free to
registered users of the Ipedo Developer Network (IDN) at
http://www.ipedo.com/developer. IDN is a valuable online resource for
XML application developers and users of Ipedo products. IDN is a direct
link to the development and support resources as well as the thought
leadership within Ipedo, and includes the Developer Community, a
collection of forums designed to connect developers to the technical
resources within Ipedo and to other Ipedo users.
Ipedo Integration Manager and Ipedo Personalization Manager are
available for evaluation directly from Ipedo Sales Representatives.
Please contact Ipedo directly at sales@ipedo.com for more information on
these products.
Sincerely,
Chris Parkerson
