They do charge for their browser.  The embedded versions are not given away 
free.  And I gladly paid their modest fee to eliminate the embedded advertising, 
since it is the fastest and most nimble browser I have yet to use (though 
Mozilla is not looking too bad).

Speaking of which, there is a good article on Salon regarding the browser war 
that is happening on mobile devices:

And Opera seems to have the upper hand here.

Not a bad business model if you ask me.  MS can be beaten.....in fact, I would 
propose that many users are tired of insecure, bloated, slow and expensive 
MS products and are open to other alternatives more so than ever before.  So 
there may just be a browser market with a sustainable business (meaning 
financial) model out there.
