Well, not really. I believe that the list is an important industry
resource. OASIS values the list; otherwise we would not have hosted it
for the past three years. But this list must necesarily be a bit lower
on the priority scale than our member activities. Given finite resources
we must provide services to our members first.

That said, the simplest solution is what I have already suggested a
number of times: notify us when there's a problem so that we can address
it, rather than complaining to the list about how bad a job we're doing.
With a little cooperation from the list subscribers we can keep things
running pretty well with limited resources.

Karl,

I would like simply to say "Thank you" to you and your colleagues at OASIS for supporting this list over an extended period. It's appreciated.

Thank you too for taking the trouble to become involved in resolving a problem which, quite sensibly, cannot be of prime priority to OASIS or to any other organisation of comparable size. It's perfectly understandable.

I will also mention that when I had a problem with my XML-Dev subscription (12 or 18 months ago?) that Jeffrey Lomas was helpful and resolved the issues pretty promptly. So, at least in my experience, simply drawing a temporary difficulty to OASIS's attention led to a fairly swift resolution.

At the price I pay for being able to be part of this community I find XML-Dev on OASIS represents excellent value for money. :)

Regards

Andrew Watt
