Thanks folks. Simple and obvious.
Good. There is a business case here.
I guess the next piece of that would take a
GUI client such as Visual Net (Antartica) or devising
one using non-proprietary 3D (see X3D) and
2D (SVG) and enabling visualization as well
via XSLT.

Absolutely, but RSS has little to do with it. This is exactly what
HTTP authentication is for. I'm not sure which, if any, RSS clients
currently support this.
